Mandela was ‘never’ a member of the Communist Party:

Mandela was ‘never’ a member of the Communist Party:

Floyd Shivambu

As part of their message of condolences on the 6th of December 2013, both the South African Communist Party (SACP) and the African National Congress (ANC) made a claim that President Nelson Mandela was a member of the Central Committee of the SACP during his arrest in 1962 for what later became the Rivonia Trial. In its statement, the Communist Party says, “at his arrest in 1962, Nelson Mandela was not only a member of the underground SACP, but was also a member of the Party’s Central Committee.

Response to the neo-liberal Tito Mboweni: Political Adventurism is not from the EFF, but from the ANC.

Floyd Shivambu

In the article published on Business Day online on the 29th of October 2013, Tito Mboweni the erstwhile Governor of one of the few privately owned Reserve/Central Banks in the world, the South African Reserve Bank rushed in where angels fear to tread and proclaimed without much substance that the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) is not a left movement.

Protest against Imperialist Obama should also be directed towards sub-imperialist Zuma:

THE ANGER AGAINST US FOREIGN POLICY SHOULD ALSO BE DIRECTED ON SA SUB-IMPERIALIST FOREIGN POLICY:

Floyd Shivambu

It is now apparent that US President Barack Obama will receive an irate reception from Progressive Activists and Internationalists who correctly are engaging their political rights and freedom of rejecting US bully imperialism. The protest action against the US Administration and its Representative Barack Obama is correct because Obama and his administration should appreciate that the world does not approve of its bully foreign policy objectives and practices.

EFF On the Land Question

ECONOMIC FREEDOM FIGHTERS ON LAND: South Africa should redistribute land; protect the food economy to rescue itself from crisis levels of unemployment and poverty:

19 June 2013

Today, the 19th of June 2013 marks exactly 100 years since the promulgation of the Natives Land Act, 1913, which basically disposed indigenous Africans of their land, heritage and means of survival. As a way of pushing indigenous Africans to the nascent industries and Mining sector, the colonial repressive and racist regime disposed Africans of their land, and allocated the land white farmers, and did so without any payment. Only 13% of the land was left to the Africans, whilst white minority were allocated the remaining 87% of South Africa’s land.

SASCO's Ideological Character

SASCO’s Ideological Character & Approach:
A Need for proclamation on Revolutionary theory

Nyiko Floyd Shivambu

December 2003 first draft. Official documents for the 2004 National Congress.

Introduction

It does not warrant rocket science to notice and know that the South African Students’ Congress has been at the forefront of students’ struggles in the country. This character of SASCO can be traced back to as far as 1924, when the National Union of South African Students (NUSAS) was conceived, mainly to be co-ordinator of SRC’s with profound ability to exert progressive outlook to student organisation. It is instructive to note that NUSAS is the primary origin of SASCO.

The NDP Article and perspective:

The NDP has completely missed the point and it was foolhardy for the ANC to adopt it as a strategic mission.

FLOYD SHIVAMBU

The outcomes of the ANC 53rd National Conference ideologically and politically not the most helpful on various fronts, yet some sense of unity was proclaimed as its primary outcome, due to a slate of leadership preferences being elected and those who opposed it excluded from the leadership of the ANC. This is however not the biggest anomaly committed by the 53rd National Conference, which was supposed to be a 'watershed' Conference as prematurely pronounced by the ANC leadership even before Conference begun.

The dissolution of the ANCYL is not bravery.

The dissolution of the ANC Youth League is political cowardice:

 Floyd Shivambu

The ANC National Executive Committee held its induction meeting on the 15th of March 2013 to introduce members elected at its 53rd National Conference to the ANC's organizational, political, ideological and constitutional tenets, values and principles. In the middle of this induction, possibly imbued with new knowledge and exuberance of the "watershed" 53rd National Conference, the ANC National Executive Committee unprecedently decided to disband the democratically elected ANC Youth League 24th National Congress National Executive Committee and ANC Limpopo 7th Provincial Congress Provincial Executive Committee.

Response to Khaya Dlanga

Response to Idols fan, hip-hop lyricist Khaya Dlanga

Floyd Shivambu.

I normally ignore ventilations of self-proclaimed public intellectuals, who have no tested and academically reviewed work to show their intellectual stature. I ignore these ventilations because I, in most instances, laugh off the youthful exuberance displayed in the manner in which these "intellectuals" write about subjects they know nothing about. It reminds me of my high school days when we, as Majita would sit and talk about powerful cars and argue on which one is the fastest, whilst none of us had no drivers' licence, and most hadn't even been within 10 meters of the vehicles we spoke about.

RE: Dear Jeremy Cronin on behalf of Irvin Jim

RE: Dear Jeremy Cronin on behalf of Irvin Jim

15 March 2013

I read your open letter to Comrade Irvin Jim, the General Secretary of NUMSA and thought that before he responds, I should respond on my behalf because he might not respond or be mild for fear of victimisation, banishment and isolation. Many people I know, including those you work with everyday have been fearing to dismiss your poetry and so pseudo-Marxist views because of the fear of isolating conforming “minorities” in both the Communist Party and the ANC.

AGANG IS NOT A SOLUTION TO SOUTH AFRICA'S DEVELOPMENTAL PROBLEMS.

MAMPHELE RAMPHELE'S MISDIAGNOSIS OF SA DEVELOPMENTAL PROBLEMS IS A BAD START.

Floyd Shivambu

MAMPHELE RAMPHELE was over the past few weeks paraded in most media platforms as amongst those who want to join into South Africa's homogenous political spectrum. It is a reality that all political parties or party political platforms in South Africa, including the ANC and the Democratic Alliance have grown closer to each other in terms if their fundamental ideological dispositions and politics.
